How-to use DDNS function for IPTV Box

This document is to describe how to register a DDNS server and use DDNS function of IPYV box. It is separated into two parts. First, it describes how to create a new account on DynDNS.com. Second, setup your IPTV box and router to use DDNS function, which provided by DynDNS.com.

Click on the Create one now to start the registration.
1.2 Input the necessary information, which you need to complete.
1.3 Check mark on “I will only create one (1) free account” to simplify the registration process.
1.4 After finishing the web registration as shown below, a confirm mail will be sent to your mail account.
1.5 You need to visit the confirmation address in this confirmed mail within 48 hours to complete the account creation process. You will see the following web page after “Account Confirmed” procedure. Enter your user name and password on the right top of this page.
1.6 The following page will be shown as below.
Click on “My Hosts”, the “Host Service” will be shown as below. Click on “Add New Hostname” and go to the next step.
1.7 Choose a domain name first, for example, “homedns.org”.
1.8 Enter the whole domain name, for example, “myiptv.homedns.org”
Check mark on wildcard.
Use auto detect IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. This address will be the IP of your router. You may check your router’s current IP at the same time. If your IPTV box is located behind the router, the new host should be directed to your router. If auto detect IP shows the wrong IP (different from your router), you can input your router’ IP by manually. Then Click on the “Create Host” now.
1.9 The following picture shows the host service, which you just create. Please note that the IP address of this domain name is the same as your router. The next page shows the current status of router (the IP may changes from different ISP and router).
The first part to create a new host service is completed now. Please go to the next page, we will describe how to setup your IPTV box and router to meet the setting of your host.
2.How to setup your IPTV box and router.
1.Assume IPTV box is located in your local area network, and it is behind a router. See the following example.
2.Assume IPTV box is using PPPoE service to get a dynamic IP from ISP.
In this condition, you should use the DDNS function, which provided by your router. Besides, it is suggested that user assigns an IP to IPTV box. The IP should be 192.168.x.x. Or you may use IPTV finder to find its IP.
1.2 Open TCP/IP port 80,554 and 100, which corresponds to your IPTV box settings.
In this condition, you should use the DDNS function, which provided by IPTV box.
2.1 Input your PPPoE account and password in the Network setting page.
2.2 Input the host name which has been register at DynDNS.com
Remember to save your settings when completed. Now, you may open IE to browse your favorite TV show on Internet by typing the following URL (in this case).

A1. If you do not have an fixed IP for IPTV box, you need to use DDNS service. Or you cannot find your IPTV box on internet with dynamic IP.
